Much like the suspect timer, the session change timer or other timers that are now visible to those that care about that kind of thing...I'd like to see a polarization timer.
This can't be all that hard...but maybe I'm wrong. |

Not really...the point was to have a different mechanic than gates. And honestly I think they should transfer this mechanic to docking timers.

well even giving the ship a little glowing aura...maybe purple haze ;) would work rather than another spin down or numerical timer...just some visible effect from the polarization of the WH. |

And a visual effect would be icing on the cake (so long as it doesn't show through cloaks...that could be bad/hilarious depending on your point of view).
lol no it wouldn't show through the cloak. And its no more OP than a gate aggro timer that you get everywhere else or your combat log--off timer. |

You sir are a...dare I say it...luminary in wormhole society and your support lends great credulity. I appreciate the support. Now if only I could remove thread-jacking posts I'd be ahead of the game. |

Now if only I could remove thread-jacking posts I'd be ahead of the game. A luminary Sir you may be, but I fear this proposal shines so brightly it risks permanent damage to the beholder. Wormholes are mysterious places. We can't have their natural beauty marred by day-trippers assembling timers everywhere. Buy yourself a pocket-watch good Sir, and time your way to wormhole freedom. Nay say I, to this newfangled devilishness.
Your lucid and well documented opposition to my idea is well received by my ever reddening earlobes. Clearly the EVE UI needs no tweaking from its current state of perfection! Clearly information for players can't be made any more transparent or useful than in the current state without goons flooding W-space because now they have a visible timer to compensate for their as-of-yet un-diagnosed ADHD conditions!
I mean if we had timers in W-space why then soon supers and titans would follow and CHAOS would reign! The slippery slope is indeed one fraught with great danger!
OR... you're just a nay-sayer whose opinion has no basis on analytic or rational though processes driven by careful inspection of the evidence at hand. |

Your fine oratory skill does not however extend to the bamboozling of a community wherein the concept of critical thinking is most well applied. Perception at least in this case is not reality. I invite you kindly to cease veiling actual facts with anecdotes and statements that cannot be backed up by citatation.
cheers!

This can't be all that hard...but maybe I'm wrong. My apologies if this has been covered already but to me the problem would lie in having timers for each wh. I never really thought about it until now but a lot of us are jumping multiple wh along routes, moving very quickly, and could conceivably timer on one and not another. The timer idea would then need to be listed per wh to make it clear what your status actually is. That could get messy, although from a UI standpoint one would think a compromise (info vs ease of reading) could be reasonably simple to implement.
Its no different than an aggro timer on any gate. It has a status on or off...if its on then countdown can start from the top. If you go and polarize yourself on multiple wormholes in the same system you may just be one slippery dude as you should be dead in a pvp situation where you have to worry about this.
but fair enough...since the timer could apply differently to different wormholes. Its still just a countdown and WH's have their own sig ID that is unique as a system asset. |
